| The Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) provides for the setting of federal workplace health and safety standards by the Secretary of Labor, and their enforcement through inspections and penalties.
Many of these standards are very detailed. Failure to comply with OSHA standards can not only result in penalties, but can also be used as evidence of negligence should an injury result.
OSHA also requires certain record-keeping as to employee injuries.
The attorneys of Harris Dowell Fisher & Harris, L.C. assist employers in conducting internal reviews of OSHA compliance and preparing appropriate safety plans and policies, as well as in responding to OSHA investigations.
