Harris Dowell Fisher & Harris, L.C. partner George L. Lenard is the creator and editor of George's Employment Blawg, one of the premier weblogs, or blogs, in the area of human resources and labor and employment law.

(A blog is a web site consisting of periodic entries, or posts, normally in reverse chronological order. Posts are date and time-stamped, with the newest post at the top of the page, and reader comments often appearing below it.)

George is joined in this employment blog project by Michael Harris (no relation to Michael F. Harris of this firm), who is a professor of Management at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.  Michael has a Ph.D. in Industrial & Organizational Psychology and teaches Human Resource Management courses.  His publications include a textbook, Human Resource Management: A Practical Approach.

Between them, George and Michael generally post at least one new human resource, employment law, or other employment-related item a day, so this blog is ever-changing.  George's Employment Blawg is written in non-technical language for a wide audience including business owners, executives, human resource managers, lawyers, students, and professors, all sharing interests in a broad variety of employment-related issues.

George says: "We try not to take ourselves too seriously, and are not above occasional lame efforts at humor and judiciously irreverent criticism of powerful targets such as lawyers, courts, and government agencies."

George's Employment Blawg has received significant accolades, including a favorable PowerBlog Review in the Small Business Trends blog and inclusion in Master Blogs, A Guide to Outstanding Blogs.

Anita Campbell of Small Business Trends writes:

This blog manages to stay focused on a niche, yet covers a wide range of employment-related issues that appeal to both lawyers and non-lawyers alike. . . .

I love the way this blog lets the personalities of the writers shine through. The tone is conversational. It often has humor interspersed.

The blog is not above the occasional civilized rant, either, as in [a] post where George takes on a very legal institution -- class action lawsuits -- and undresses them down to their skivvies . . .

This blog is George's personal project, and the opinions and views expressed in it are not necessarily those of Harris Dowell Fisher & Harris, L.C. or its attorneys.  (For that matter, Michael's views are not necessarily George's, and vice versa.)
